Morning Dew

Woke up inspired! The sun was out in Chicago, such beautiful weather, my sister and I spent the morning drinking coffee surrounded by flowers and a crystal clear swimming pool. Later I became friends with a family of ducks, fed them some bread and they stuck around while I put my new bell on my bike. Just ordered a new metal basket for it and am so excited for it to arrive.

Rings and things

Mary-Kate Olsen is a style wizard. She finds the most gorgeous, yet slightly bizarre, jewelery to accessorize with.  Frog bracelets? In a weird way I'm not appalled, infact, I'm now more intrigued. So much so that I found myself searching through Google sites and clicking random photos trying to find more of her looks and anything that would bring me to the source of all her inspirations! I've finally come to the conclusion that she is one of the most talented, the ultimate, thrift store and vintage shopper around. I imagine that she spends her free time rummaging elite vintage shops, finding elegant jewelry worn by Queen Elizabeth herself, or classic weathered handbag constructed in Europe during the war, maybe some pieces originally worn by style savvy Hippies from the late 1960s. She's the ultimate shopper and I would give anything to find out her secret. I live for thrift shopping and finding original, vintage, pieces and making them my own. It's a good feeling knowing that you are wearing a portion of fashion history.

Style Envy: Erin Wasson

The design and style of Erin Wasson, model turned designer's, East Village apartment is probably the most amazing thing I've seen since Carrie Bradshaw's sought after adobe in Sex and the City. The urban, Earthy, vintage appeal is very intriguing and is a design style that one can never get sick of. It's so random and disoriented in such an effortless way that if I lived there, I could never get bored living in such an environment.  The wooden floors, brick walls, THE CLOSET, the plain white walls covered in an unsystematic sequence of art work and what appears to be random objects, and the vintage furniture from different places and eras create such an explicit style that you would be crazy not to fall in love.
Her closet causes an envious spark in my eye. It's all a mix of vintage finds, personal alterations, designer pieces, and fast-fashion.  Her expressive style is effortless and chic with that badass persona that she's so widely known and admired for.
"When you can take something that is a reject at the thrift
store sitting on the bottom of a pile of junk and make it
work, make it look interesting, that's real style to me."
AMEN!!
