Happy Holidays xo

Meet my sister, Jo.
The one who sparked my love for fashion.
She is a Wildland Firefighter- the most fabulous of them all. xo
There is nothing that screams Holiday more than a bold red lip. I was finally able to go back home to good ole' Wisconsin and spend time with my family for the Holiday. But of course, although I was back home, where corn fields out number shopping centers, I refused to be anything less than city chic and fabulous. Just like the saying goes, "You can take the girl away from the city, but you can't take the city away from the girl."
My dress is Allen B; I fell in love with the leather material at the top, it gave the dress a rock'n'roll feel while the silk waist and the metallic chiffon balanced it out with a more feminine appeal.  It is my belief that there is absolutely nothing more fabulous than a belted dress and pops of leopard print- Soo, without further ado: my belt is vintage and my Mary-Jane pumps are Simply Vera Wang (a Mary-Jane pump is such a classic and can go, effortlessly, from dressy to casual, IF you wear them correctly; no sweat pants and absolutely not gym shirts...period. A dark wash skinny jean and a simple, loose-fitted, button up blouse is simple, chic and effortless. Perfect for a casual night, where ever you find yourself, whether it's in the city or, in my case, the country side.)
Anyways...my handbag is the Michael Kors Hamilton tote (a similar one can be found here) and my red lipstick is from Mac, of course. Jo is wearing a nude and black lace Nicole Miller blouse, Michael Kors dark skinny jeans and chic, Nine West suede maroon booties with patent leather detailing on the heel. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!! Stay fabulous.

Latest obsession: Michael Kors belted Sequin Jumpsuit

Obsessed may be an understatement. Once again, Michael Kors has created perfection. The envy of jumpsuits everywhere; his black sequin jumpsuit is so endearing that I, along with the rest of the world, have fallen madly in love. It's truly a piece of art.
My gorgeous friend, Michelle was one of the lucky ones who was able to snatch one up before they were gone (from our store) and she looks absolutely lovely. She's wearing MICHAEL from head to toe: Black sequin jumpsuit, black patent York peep-toe platforms, and Michael's black boyfriend blazer-which gives it the perfect balance into a casual everyday look. Okay, so now it's time to get off your ass and hurry to one of Micheal Kors many boutiques and pick up this look if, not just the jumpsuit, before it's sold out everywhere! here  xoxo

Kyle Anderson Replaces Taylor Tomasi Hill as Marie Claires Accessories Director

Yes, it's true! Taylor Tomasi Hill has moved on as the Style and Accessories Director at Marie Claire Magazine to Artistic Director of Moda Operandi, an online source for exclusive pre-orders directly from the runway. This is a very huge loss for Marie Claire but a great, significant gain for Moda Operandi and their team as Taylor is a fashion influencer and artistic innovator within the industry. She is absolutely brilliant!

As I look back at my time at Marie Claire I'm so fortunate to have been able to work with such amazing people. Of these, I must say that Taylor Tomasi Hill was the most influential. Everyday, she would come into the office ready for work, looking fabulous and would fuel the lust I had for the fashion industry. Her kind spirit and hard work was a true inspiration and through thick or thin, madness or slowness she always had a smile on her face. She was a genius and trendsetter when it came to styling editorials, pulling together mood boards and finding the most intricate, unique accessories- case in point: The jeweled collar she is wearing in the picture above. It's incredible. Where she found it? It has always been a mystery to me but she was constantly finding ways to showcase these rare pieces and created a need for them in the fashion world. She created art out of lavish jewels and accessories and caused readers everywhere to covet and lust after it all.  Her talent is unquestionable. I remember the way she would danced around the office- you could see and feel the inspiration flowing through her. She was such a crucial part of Marie Claire Magazine and I'm not sure Marie Claire will ever be the same. This is just my opinion so what does it even matter, right?

So, who is the lucky lad that will fill the giant hole that is left since the loss of Taylor Tomasi? The one and only, Kyle Anderson. I know what you're thinking....Who? Well, it wasn't until recently that I found out I had been following him on Twitter for quite some time (@KyleEditor). Kyle is the former Senior Accessories Editor for Elle Magazine and he is taking a giant leap, joining the Marie Claire Fashion team. He seems excited and confident he can fill Taylor Tomasi's shoes as he shouts it to the world via Twitter. Although I am saddened by the news of Taylor leaving, I am truly happy for Kyle and can't wait to see what he brings to Marie Claire's Accessories Department. Change can be a wonderful thing...Congrats Kyle!!  The world is waiting.

Incredible fashions for oober cheap

The Miu Miu Glitter & Suede Bow Peep Toe ankle Booties from Saks  vs. the pleated Pink Velvet Glitter Booties from Charlotte Russe. Christian Louboutin Clou Noeud Spiked Slingback Pumps (SOLD OUT) vs. the Nude Spiked bow Peep-Toe Slingback from Charlotte Russe.

Can you believe this?! Yes, I was thinking the same thing.
Holy moley!! Charlotte Russe has, for the first time, left me screaming like a kid on Halloween! Let's just say I bought both pairs and will be stopping back in Charolette Russe again soon. You've done well Charlotte-keep it up- if not for the sake of my sanity then at least for the sake of my wallet...and closet! As you can tell, I'm all about the glitter and studs. So chic!

Valentino Rockstud Dome Satchel

Woooooow...this isn't just a bag. It's Valentino's approach on taking luxury to a whole new level. It's a portable slice of heaven.  The studs are perfectly sized to keep it elegant and sophisticated while the shape is large enough to make due as an excellent shopping, casual everyday essential bag, not the mention the color-it's perfection.  $2,875...worth every penny- if you have it to spend.. (Saks)
It has that rocker chic, Breakfast at Tiffanys kinda feel to it.
Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful.

An Evening with VOGUE

*cough* please excuse the blurriness  of these two photos...a bathroom mirror
and lighting does not make a quality photo. Just incase you were wondering :)

I am wearing an Impulse jumpsuit from Macy's (incredible isn't it?! You think its a dress but, NOPE, it's a wide leg pleated pant suit. Ticky...but absolutely lovely) my leopard print bag is a vintage, my shoes are Michael Kors (despite not being able to see them...oops!) and my belt is Simply Vera Wang. I was in a fairytale all night long.

Alice in Wonderland..

----------------------- XOXO -----------------------
So, like every other fashion obsessed blogger, I was stalking every blog and wedsite that covered Fashion week. I get so captivated by the people, the trends, the clothes and all the unique styles that come together to celebrate fashion.
This year, while I was enjoying my dose of Fashion week photos,  I couldn't help but notice the return of the retro digital, stretchy band watch. So many models were wearing them and they looked fantastic! You can dress it up, dress it down, make it sporty or elegant, not to mention the fact that it's a lot easier to read. :) It's my latest obsession and I couldn't wait to share my interpretation.
I am wearing an Alice and Wonderland themed silk dress from Nordstrom-it's so chic!! Don't ever be afraid to play around with prints-a calf hair, leopard print belt from Target and my earrings are vintage.

Fashion Week lives on...

Fashion Week. It's my favorite time of year. The time when the weather begins to change, the air suddenly feels crisp Fashion gets it's time to shine. The best of the best, the most elite and stylish of all the Fashion World flock together to experience and appreciate the art of modern luxury and prevailing tastes set by designers and trend setters. The excitement grows with each passing day, each photo taken and every editor and style guru siting. What are they wearing, who are they seeing. The prints, the fabrics, the textures and colors...it all happens so quickly and before you know it, it's over. Until next year. Don't fret...although Fashion week is over, the photos still remain and if you ask me? Those are the best part!! Enjoy

Checkers and Colors and Prints, oh my!

I fell in love with a this Tory Burch top and couldn't resist sharing it with you. The color, the fit, the design and the subtle shimmer (which is absolutely fantastic-I'm all about the shimmer) makes it pure perfection. Paired with my bright orange/red pants (the color is still under discussion...it's your call) and leopard print flats makes a chic and trendy outfit, ideal for these warm Fall days Chicago has been blessed with this week. I am a firm believer in mixing different prints, textures and colors. It makes for a more exciting look and guaranteed more heads turning your way. Style is not what you wear, it's HOW you wear it.

Shimmer Chic

I am wearing H&M high waisted cropped pants, Zara Shimmery black/metallic tank, Vera Wang black-fabulous-pumps, Michael Kors Hamilton handbag and Michael Kors Rose-gold watch.

I wanted to keep my outfit professional yet chic, fun but sophisticated and classic with a trendy twist. This was my result. I always need to make a professional look into something that still expresses my personal style. I never like to blend in so this seemed to fit. Perfect for a day at the Ford Models-Chicago offices. Thoughts?
