Fashion Editorial Accessories Catalog

For those of you who know me are aware that I have a Korean middle name: Jungsun, which translates to 'Heart and Goodness." This name is very dear to me for some strange reason, it's always been a unique part of my life in some shape or form. I have it tattooed on my back in it's original korean symbols, reminding me that having a big heart and treating other well is a what life is all about.

Anyways, that is the story behind the name I chose for my catalog. Now, I am not by any means actually selling what is pictured. This is solely for educational purposes only. However, I have this burning desire, ever since being at Marie Claire to be a part of creating Fashion Editorials and creating beautiful works of art from clothing and accessories. So, I figured this is the perfect opportunity to see what I am capable of. For my Catalog Development class I decided to create a, what they call, a 'Magalog' in a program called InDesign (I'm sure you've heard of it. It's much like Photoshop, but made for building catalogs and magazines...fun stuff). Magalogs are becoming very popular amongst Fashion retailers, I'm telling you. I think it's time to jump on the bandwagon! My inspiration? Think Michael Kors, '  J.Crew and Polyvore meets Marie Claire Magazine.

My sister and I got together to shoot some product shots at the studio and they turned out absolutely fantastic. Most of the photos used will be my own and will have been styled by non other than yours truly. Only a few images within my entire catalog will consist of photos that aren't my own. While I'm waiting for her to finish editing the rest of the photos, here is a little sneak peek of what's to come next of the 25 page Fashion Editorial Accessories Catalog...oh, whoops-Magalog, sorry! What do you think? Let me know your thoughts!

69th Annual Golden Globe Goddesses

Slama Hayek looked like a golden goddess in a chic, black and gold pleated dress by Gucci. She was glowing the whole night and her ombre hair complimented the dress perfectly.
Emma Stone was all grown up in an elegant chiffon two-tone Lanvin gown. The plunge neck line gave the whole look a risque, mysterious vibe, which I'm always a fan of at any award show.
The lovely and talented Miss Lea Michele was absolutely ravishing in this beautiful sequin Marchesa Gown. My favorite part of her look was the pop of color added. The placement is my favorite part - not with a necklace or earrings, but with a great statement ring, on her finger as she places her hand on her hip- Brilliant!
Can Angelina ever mess up a Red Carpet moment? She looked stunning in a Nude satin Atelier Versace Gown; the thigh high slit and gathered details around the waist created the body of a goddess. Charlize Theron was no less than sexy in her nude Couture gown by Christian Dior. The nude gowns seemed to be a big thing on the Red Carpet this year and Heidi Klum perfected it by keeping it simple with a classic Calvin Klein; she added a pop of color with a fabulous Lorraine Schwartz necklace. To die for!!!!
Last but certainly not least, Tilda Swinton stole the show with her eye catching and age appropriate two piece gown by one of my favorite designers-Haider Ackerman. The color and fabrication along with the subtle details are worth a thousand looks. Not to mention the Fred Leighton jewels-the perfect accent to her look.
I added the backs of Lea and Heidi's dresses because the open backs and detailing are all the rage....so sexy. Love it!!! Very pleased with all the fashion choices this year at the Golden Globes.

FAVORITE LOOK OF THE NIGHT:
Georgina Chapman wearing a dress from her own label: Marchesa. Absolutely in love with this dress. She's channeling old Hollywood glamour. This look is ah-mazing and she is gorgeous!!!

A Very VERSACE New Years!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
----------- WHAT I WORE ------------
"Wearing black on New Year’s Eve is a bit like wearing a
tasteful sheath to Mardi Gras. Why? You have free rein to go
full glam. Work it!" -Nina Garcia

I couldn't have put it better myself! New Years is the one time a year you can go all out, judgment aside, so why not wear something ravishing. Something with lots of shimmer and pizzazz! I wanted to end 2011 with a bang and start 2012 in a fabulous outfit, of course. Black was off limits and sparkle was a definite must!
My dress is from the much anticipated Versace for H&M Collection: the gorgeous, Limited Edition Yellow Silk, gold studded dress. I was amazed by the detailing of the dress, it's absolutely stunning-the pictures don't do it any justice. You can see the full Versace for H&M Collection here. I adorned my feet with a pair of chic Sam Edelman's. I am a firm believer that the shoes you wear can either make or break an entire outfit, and it's tricky finding shoes that won't completely overwhelm a bright yellow studded dress, am I right? The Scarlett Pump was a perfect match! The vanilla Mary-Jane T-strap front is subtle yet classy-to balance out the dress-but the black spikes and steel heel keep the look chic, sassy and party-ready. A match made in heaven. Literally! My feet were kept happy the whole night. It's safe to say it was the best New Years ever!!! Hello 2012.
