Spotted: Thrifted Gold!

I love thrift stores. You can always find, if you look hard enough, some amazing, one of a kind vintage pieces...and they're so cheap!
I went to Goodwill and began my search through the racks of clothes covering the store. I was by the jackets and blazers when something caught my eye, something shiny.  I stuck my hand in the rack and pulled out this fabulous metallic draped blazer, from what looks like the 80's; It was love at first site. <3
Of course, being from a thrift store there are no other sizes available and this was a large. I tried it on and it looked great; When things are too big, especially a blazer like this that's not structured, there are a few option to making it work.
I can belt it at the hips with a studded skinny belt-which is a great trend this season- and put on a great pair of heels for a night out with my girls.  I could also pair it with some leggings and a cute top for a casual chic look. If you really wanted to, you could rock it out at the office with a fitted black skirt and flowy top with cute pumps; I would say, unless you work at Vogue, or another amazing magazine, stay away from wearing this at work...it's too much fab in one outfit ;-)

The Daily Love

"Don't be into trends. Don't make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way to live."

HAPPY EASTER!

I know I'm a day late but I was enjoying the day with my family! <3
I hope everyone had an amazing Easter, full of laughs, candy (PEEPS!!), and time with your family. The sun was shining and I could literally smell spring in the air; just a beautiful day.  I love spending time with family, especially now that I don't get to see them that often, I try to soak in every moment I have with them.
Don't ever take your family for granted.  If you don't now, you will eventually learn that they are the people that will never leave you, judge you or make you feel insignificant. They will forever be there for you, through the good times and most importantly, the bad. You're stuck with them for eternity and, through my experience, family is the best friends, and the greatest love one could ever ask for.
I remember when I was little my sisters and I would enter in an easter coloring contest. I won a huge easter basket full of candy and a stuffed bunny that sang songs when you pressed it's ear.  I was the happiest girl in the world. I wore pastel pinks, blues, and yellows to accept my prize to support easter. See, even when I was a kid, I picked out my outfits accordingly.

This year I decided to celebrate Easter in style. I wanted to appreciate spring and the sun shine and dress in this blue and purple floral dress from A'Gaci (it screamed spring and I was immediatley attracted to it in the store; you know what they say "You like it the most when you're in the store") I paired the dress with Maroon wedges with flower embelishments from Nordstrom. To top it off I wore a fabulous faux-diamond necklace that I found in my moms jewelery box, and I am absolutely in love with it. The sun was hitting my legs so they look extra pale, sorry if it hurts yours eyes haha
Pale IS the new tan ya know. I apply moisturizer with SPF everyday; It's a very healthy habit to get into, it can save your life and your youth! Who wouldn't want that?! I would rather have healthy skin than tan skin.
I strongly encourage you to start..if you haven't already!
Here are some benefits, good products, and reasons why it's important to use SPF moisturizures

Natasha Poly

Model of the Moment

Her given name is Natalia Polevshchikova, shortened to the most commonly known Natasha Poly.  This Russian beauty started her career in 2000 after winning a model search competition in Moscow. Natalia is now the go-to model for editorial and advertising campaigns and is known ver well for her runway walk and signature pose. She is currently the face of Gucci (the photo above is a picture from the campaign, recognizable in fashion magazines) and has been involved with other campaigns including Missoni and Jil Sander. Shes appeared in editorials for Russian, French, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, and American Vogue, and was named as one of the faces of the moment by American Vogue in 2009.  In the 2000s she was declared on of the top models in the world by British Vouge.  She so beautiful, and has that exotic ook which gives her that edge that not everyone has. She gorgeous, just look at her...her cheekbones are devine. I may or may not have a tiny girl crush on her. You'll never know ;-)

More SJP Please!

Sarah Jessica Parker, aka Carrie Bradshaw, the queen of fashion....my inspiration and style crush. To me she is the ultimate fashionista...the Micheal Jackson of the fashion world, you can't deny it! Look at her, even at age 44 she looks amazing and can still out shine anyone on the red carpet.  These pictures explain it all.

Fashion Photoshoot

Today I had a photoshoot in Obamas neighborhood by Hyde Park in Chicago. It was for a fashion look book and I modeled for one of my friends and aspiring designer Jaqui Fanella.  Her work is amazing and made two amazing, elegant, graceful gowns. I felt like a Victorian Queen in the dress. We did some shots outside, in the cold!  The weather has been so beautiful lately but it's still not warm enough to leave the house without a jacket, and today in particular was not so warm, and it truly gave proof to Chicagos nickname "The Windy City."  Let me just say, doing shoots outside was unpleasant, but we got some good shots so it was worth it.  I met so many amazing people and had such a fabulous time. Here are some behind the scene shots!

Remember Me

After much waiting and hoping to get some free time, I finally was able to see Remember Me. It is such a beautiful and powerful movie that when it was over I left the theater crying, my face bright red. My heart felt heavy, in a good way, and my life seemed so simple. I could relate alot to the movie; the situations and feelings that were brought up in the movie hit me hard. It was just amazing, definitely worth the $10.  One of my favorite quotes from the movie:
"Whatever you do in life will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it because you can't know, you can't ever really know, the meaning of your life...And you don't need to...Just know that your life has a meaning...Every life has a meaning... whether it lasts one hundred years or one hundred seconds...Every life... And every death... changes the world in its own way.

Ghandi knew this. He knew his life would mean something to someone, somewhere, somehow. And he knew with as much certainty that he could never know that meaning...He understood that enjoying life should be of much greater concern then understanding it.  And so do I.  You can't know so don't take it for granted but don't take it too seriously.  Don't postpone what you want. Don't leave anything misunderstood.  Make sure the people you care about know.  Make sure they know how you really feel because just like that...it could end."

Haha, I'm Ally ^^^ jealous?!
If you haven't already, GO SEE IT!!!
